A human assumes the Title “Ruhollah” as if it were an honorary distinction. How can a human bear a name that denotes the Angel Gabriel, the Holy Quran, “Ayatollah”, the Holy of Holies that is on earth today? Undoubtedly, this arrogance through religious symbolism casts another shadow over the sect of shiism.
Yet impiety also lies above all in those who accepted such folly without question and without Proof, those who kept something so amazingly stupid alive for decades.
It is hard to read these words without a sense of dismay: “Ruhollah,” which means the “Holy Spirit,” carried by a human being. A Title that in the revealed Religions designates the immediate proximity to God, symbolizing the Messenger Angel Gabriel, while “Ayatollah” refers to a “Sign of God,” a term embodying the highest Sanctity in Islam, the Holy of Holies that is on earth today. The Ayat, the Verses of the Holy Quran, are regarded, unlike the books of the Bible, as the Words personally authored by God, and for that reason they have remained unchanged to this day – out of reverence for an Authorship that admits no co-author. And yet, these two Titles were until yesterday claimed by mortal hands.
How can we understand a human adorning themselves with these names? It is an act that takes one’s breath away, blurring the boundary between human power and divine Sanctity in a flagrant way – as absurd as the infallibility of the pope.
And yet it happened: a human assumes the Title “Ruhollah” as if it were an honorary distinction, as if representing the Heavenly Kingdom. Regardless of political judgments of Khamenei – whether he is seen as a dictator – the moral shock remains: how can a human bear a name that denotes the Angel Gabriel, the Spirit of God, and His Signs? Undoubtedly, this arrogance through religious symbolism casts another shadow over shiism and its traditions, despite the fact that the true Signs of God, the Holy Quran, forbid sects – as if reverence of the Prophet and his descendant Hussein were not already enough. Foolishness is indeed a bottomless pit.
Yet impiety also lies, above all, in those who accepted such folly without question and without Proof, those who kept something so amazingly stupid alive for decades, and those who this morning stormed the US embassy in Pakistan in protest of the killing of this charlatan, losing their lives in the process.
Thank you Israel and thank you America for liberating humanity from this disgrace.
