Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Who Rules the Biggest Land of All?

Donald Trump dreams in surface area. When he once suggested “buying” Greenland, it sounded like a bizarre punchline from the real estate world: a president treating the world map like a property registry. Yet beneath the mockery lies a serious motive – the desire to symbolically dethrone Russia and place the United States at the top of the global ranking of size.

Trump's MAGA cap looks into the mirror and asks “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who rules the biggest land of all”.

On paper, the coup would be simple. The United States, Canada and Greenland combined would clearly surpass Russia. North America plus the Arctic – larger than the Eurasian empire. The largest country on Earth, led from Washington. For Trump, who consistently views politics as a competition, this would be the ultimate prestige victory: unseating Russia not militarily, not economically, but cartographically.

But this is precisely where the fantasy collapses. While Greenland has long been under U.S. military influence, Canada is not a piece of real estate, not a protectorate, and not a political lightweight. It is a sovereign state with its own identity, its own history – and a deeply rooted resistance to being absorbed by Washington. No election, no referendum, no government in Ottawa will legitimize Trump’s obsession with size.

Talk of “annexing” Canada is therefore less a geopolitical plan than a rhetorical provocation. It is meant to signal dominance, not to create reality. Trump deliberately stretches the boundaries of what can be said in order to perform strength – even when the goal is entirely unattainable.

Greenland remains the second pillar of this fantasy. The island is vast, resource-rich, strategically valuable – and sparsely populated. Yet even here the same rule applies: a formal transfer of ownership would change nothing fundamental. The United States is already militarily present, Denmark remains sovereign, and Greenland’s population shows little interest in becoming part of Trump’s America. Here too, the effect would be largely symbolic: a map that looks different.

Russia, meanwhile, remains territorially untouchable despite political weakness and economic vulnerability. Its status as the world’s largest country is more than a statistical footnote. It is part of the national narrative, a pillar of its great-power identity. That Trump targets precisely this status reveals less strategic sophistication than an infantile understanding of power.

In the end, Trump’s dream of presiding over the largest country on Earth is exactly that – a dream. It fails not because of Russia, but because of Canada. Because of borders that cannot be bought. Russia will keep its place at the top of the territorial ranking – not out of strength, but because Trump’s worldview is larger than his possibilities.

UPDATE/45,000 Murders in 2 Days: The biblical dimension of the crushing of Iranian protests

When “God” is the One in Whose Name is tortured, the moral compass begins to waver. Whoever then abandons the Sacred loses the ground of absolute Justice beneath their feet.

Following in Iran’s footsteps: Turkey threatens Israel with annihilation

Over 1,200 people were massacred on october 7, 2023 – how would Turkey react if it were in Israel’s place?

On behalf of Israel: Thank you, Hezbollah!

Thank you for causing the Lebanese troops to withdraw because of your arrogance. Without you, Israel would have no international legitimacy to claim a part of Allah’s Promise: from the Nile to the Euphrates. Thank you for being the opposite of Allah’s party: idolaters and therefore so God-forsaken.

Khamenei: And he was not the Holy Spirit

A human assumes the Title “Ruhollah” as if it were an honorary distinction. How can a human bear a name that denotes the Angel Gabriel, or compare himself with a Verse from the Holy Quran, “Ayatollah”, the Holy of Holies that is on earth today? Undoubtedly, this arrogance through religious symbolism casts another shadow over shiism.
