Minister of Defence Klaudia Tanner emphasized that, alongside its security-related duties, the Armed Forces also stand for solidarity and compassion. The total amount raised highlights the strong willingness to help within the organization. She expressed her gratitude to everyone involved who, through their commitment, made it possible to support people in difficult life situations.
At the donation hotlines at the ORF Center on Küniglberg, members of the Guard were joined by Minister of Defence Klaudia Tanner and Chief of the General Staff Rudolf Striedinger.
The cooperation between the Austrian Armed Forces and “Licht ins Dunkel” has existed for many years and is a permanent part of the military’s social engagement. In addition to financial contributions, the Armed Forces regularly get personally involved, for example by assisting at the donation hotlines. In this way, they make an important contribution to supporting children and families in need and fulfill their social responsibility.
A key element of the fundraising campaign was the Military Music Festival, organized in 2025 by the Salzburg Military Command. With a diverse musical program and strong public interest, it succeeded in setting a cultural highlight while also generating a substantial contribution for a good cause. The proceeds of 89,800 euros illustrate the unifying power of military music and its potential for social engagement.
