On Friday, a decapitated deer was found next to a road in Ochsengarten in the Ötztal valley in Tyrol. The police are investigating poaching and are relying on information from the public. They assume that the poachers were after the trophy and disposed of the deer next to the road after cutting off its head.

The animal was likely not killed at the site where it was found or in the immediate vicinity. The police are hoping for witnesses or other information that can be reported to the Oetz police: 059133/7106.
Just five days earlier, a woman walking in a forest in neighboring Bavaria in the district of Regensburg discovered a headless fawn. According to the police, the head had been professionally severed with a sharp cut. Here, too, investigators assume that poachers are behind the crime.
